Write for us

We welcome pitches from people with a clear, original idea about making together. A useful contribution gives readers a way to understand a shared project, choose between workable options or try a small change, while staying honest about what may not work for every group.

What to pitch

We consider practical explainers, thoughtful comparisons, histories of collaborative practices, accounts of common project snags and guides for particular kinds of gatherings. Pitches should fit our focus on shared projects, tools, workshops, group habits or local making, and offer a distinct angle rather than a broad theme alone.

What makes a strong proposal

Tell us the central question, who might find the story useful and what the reader will understand or be able to try by the end. Mention the approach you would take and any relevant sources or firsthand experience. Keep the idea grounded: no invented expertise, unsupported claims or advice that depends on professional, official or local rules.

How to send a pitch

Send proposals through the Contact page, choosing the editorial option and including a working title, a short outline and a few lines about your approach. A pitch is not a guarantee of publication. Please send the proposal rather than a full draft unless we have agreed otherwise.
