Our editorial policy
Genuine Collective aims to make its explanations clear, fair and useful. We distinguish general guidance from personal experience, avoid presenting guesses as settled facts and make corrections when we find a meaningful error.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual claims against suitable published material and take care with dates, descriptions and quotations. Where a topic is uncertain or open to interpretation, we say so rather than smoothing away the uncertainty. Our articles offer general information about collaborative making, not instructions for hazardous work or a substitute for expert help where it is needed.
Editorial independence
Editorial choices belong to Genuine Collective. A commercial relationship does not buy favourable coverage or a say over independent editorial conclusions. We will not present paid material as an independent article.
Corrections
If you notice a factual error or a confusing passage, please use the Contact page and describe the issue. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, update the article and identify the correction in context.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid collaborations and partner placements are labelled clearly so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work. Some illustrations are AI-generated; where that is the case, we identify them as such and do not present them as documentary photographs.
