About us

Genuine Collective is about making things with other people: the plans that bring a group together, the shared tools that make work possible and the habits that help a project keep moving. It is for curious makers, workshop hosts and anyone who has ever wondered how a good group project might work better. We favour useful ideas that can be adapted, tested and changed when real life gets in the way.

Making is a shared practice

A group project is more than several people working side by side. It involves choices about what to make, who does what, how materials are shared and what happens when the first plan does not fit. We explore those choices without pretending every group works the same way.

Small experiments count

Our stories look for a useful first try, not a grand formula. That might mean sketching a project plan on scrap paper, setting out shared tools before a gathering or trying a short check-in before a work session. If an idea has limits, we say so; if it needs adapting, we make room for that.

For curious people who make together

Readers may be starting a small collaborative project, arranging an informal workshop or looking for a clearer way to share the work. We explain terms where needed and keep the focus on choices a general reader can consider without special credentials.
